Portrait of Renée Wright
Areas of expertise: Clinical negligence, Personal injury

Profile

Renée is an associate in the clinical negligence and personal injury team, based in the London office. She advises clients nationally on catastrophic personal injury claims and has a specialist interest in high value brain and spinal injuries, as well as amputation claims.

Renée acts for serving police officers who are members of the Police Federation and, in particular, represents officers at risk under the Winsor reforms where injuries prevent them from returning to front line or non-adjusted duties.

Prior to joining Penningtons Manches in 2018, Renée attended inquests, worked on death row cases in Mississippi and, more recently, assisted the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in Phase 1 of the public inquiry. She was admitted as a solicitor in March 2017 and has over eight years’ litigation experience prior to qualifying. She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

Recent work highlights

  • Assisting residents of Grenfell Tower, and their family members, with drafting and finalising witness statements to be heard as part of Phase 1 of the inquiry.
  • Securing pro bono representation at an inquest in order to assist a former client with clarification around the cause of his mother’s unexpected death.
  • Taking the lead role in a traumatic brain injury case valued in the region of £20 million.
