Profile

Keith has three decades’ experience of handling personal injury, travel and insurance claims. He joined Penningtons Manches in 1992 and specialises in a wide range of personal injury claims abroad including criminal injury, clinical negligence, skiing accidents and professional negligence.

Having worked for ten years in the insurance industry, Keith also advises insurers on liability issues and on defending their policy holders in relation to holiday accidents, excessive billing claimed by foreign medical providers, policy disputes and international subrogated recoveries.

Keith helps to co-ordinate the day-to-day running of the travel law team and is a member of the Travel and Tourism Lawyers Association and a regular attendee at the International Travel Insurance Conference.

Recent work highlights

  • Acting for a client who suffered injury resulting from negligent treatment in a Florida hospital, resulting in a jury trial and an award of a six figure sum.
  • Securing a substantial six figure sum for a client who sustained serious leg injuries in a paragliding accident while on holiday in Spain.
  • Assisting an insurer regarding a substantial dispute with a hospital in Florida regarding alleged over-treatment and excessive charges.
  • Defending a foreign hotel against a high value claim from a UK tour operator for reimbursement of damages paid out to various holidaymakers following injuries sustained at the hotel.
  • Acting for a client suffering serious head injury as a result of a road traffic accident in France, with an estimated value of approximately £500,000.
