Profile

Jack is an associate in the private client team specialising in contentious trusts and probate. He advises on all aspects of trust and estate litigation including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, will validity disputes, disputes around the removal of trustees and personal representatives, estate and trust administration disputes and claims relating to constructive trusts and proprietary estoppel. He is involved in cases with both domestic and international elements.

Jack qualified in 2014 and joined Penningtons Manches in 2017 from a South East-based law firm, where he developed particular expertise in non-contentious private client matters, including wills, tax and trust advice for vulnerable clients or those where mental capacity is an issue. He also has extensive experience in Court of Protection matters, including contentious and non-contentious applications, lasting powers of attorney, care fees and related issues, and advice to lay attorneys, trustees and beneficiaries.

  • Acting for a professional deputy on a contested statutory will application involving complex issues relating to conditional contracts of development land.
  • Representing a spouse on an Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 dispute involving cross-border issues.
  • Advising a client on a dispute with a professional deputy which included complex commercial issues and overseas factors.
  • Acting for the claimant on a breach of trust claim.
