Fitness to practise panel takes registrant’s efforts to change into consideration

Mr S appeared before the fitness to practise panel of his regulatory body, charged with a number of allegations relating to providing services to a patient outside the scope allowed by statute.

The panel found the facts proved and concluded that, while Mr S’s behaviour amounted to misconduct, he had shown insight and his conduct was unlikely to be repeated. There was also evidence that he had begun to change his working practices.

As a result, the panel decided that the registrant’s fitness to practise was not currently impaired but issued a warning, to remain in place for three years.

Neil Wilks investigated the matter and Nicole Curtis appeared as advocate on behalf of the regulator.
