Penningtons' employment team recently advised GMTV on whether their enhanced redundancy policy was discriminatory following the introduction of the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006.
We advised on the drafting of a new policy together with GMTV's consultation obligations to both union and non-union staff. Despite significant changes to the employees' entitlements under the policy, it was successfully introduced with the employees' consent. Craig Thomas, the HR Director said:
