Camini Kumar


Camini is an associate (barrister) in the family law department. She was called to the Bar in July 2008 and spent six years in chambers in London before joining Penningtons Manches in 2014. 

She advises on all issues relating to the breakdown of a relationship including divorce, financial settlements, arrangements for children and jurisdictional issues. She has a particular interest in international disputes and issues relating to divorces between non-resident Indians.  

Camini has co-authored articles on European family law and she lectures to other solicitors on family law matters. She is also a member of the Family Law Bar Association. 

Recent work highlights

  • Securing a financial settlement for a client under Part III of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 following a Tunisian divorce.
  • Representing a client in a Din Torah (Jewish) arbitration to settle arrangements for a child.
  • Advising on the interpretation of habitual residence to establish jurisdiction for divorce under Brussels II Revised.
  • Representing respondents to a forced marriage order.
