Penningtons Manches’ catastrophic personal injury team settles claim for car passenger’s head injury

The personal injury team at Penningtons Manches LLP has just settled a claim for a young adult who suffered a serious head injury after a car accident, leaving her with lifelong disabilities. The claim was brought against the driver of the vehicle in which she was a passenger. 

Philippa Luscombe, partner in the team who ran the case and was instructed soon after the accident, comments: “Despite a poor prognosis to start with, our client has made great progress through her own determination and rehabilitation support funded through the personal injury claim. Nothing can take away the limitations that she will suffer for life and the fact that she cannot live independently in the way that she would wish, but the settlement should secure her future and the support that she needs.” 

The settlement is subject to court approval as the claimant lacks capacity to litigate.
