Penningtons Solicitors LLP is delighted to announce that it is teaming up with
Surrey Sports Park to sponsor its ‘Summer of Sport’, an exciting programme of events running up to the end of September 2010.
Surrey Sports Park, which is Surrey's newest sports facility, is a multi-million pound development owned by the University of Surrey. It houses some of the most up to date sports facilities in the country, as well as Surrey’s first 50 metre pool, and is expected to become one of Europe’s premiere sites for elite sport, physical activity, well-being and leisure over the next decade. Surrey Sports Park also provides first rate facilities and access for disabled athletes and its selection as an official training venue for the Paralympic Games in 2012 has emphasised its top rate provision for disability sport.
The Summer of Sport launches on 29 May with a family fun day which includes appearances from swimmer Mark Foster, who is expected to set the pool record over a 50 metre length and badminton player Gail Emms, who will be talking about her Olympic experiences. Other events include basketball tasters with Guildford Heat, netball workshops with Surrey Storm, coaching from Chelsea FC Soccer Schools, freestyle football with Dan Magness and Team GB synchronised swimming displays. Use of all Surrey Sports Park facilities will be free throughout the day.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Penningtons partner Simon Bickerdike, who heads the firm's corporate team and is based at Penningtons' Godalming office, says: "We are very pleased to be directly involved with this impressive complex which will bring world class athletes to Surrey. The Summer of Sport gives a brief taste of things to come over the next few years and will give people of all abilities the opportunity to benefit from top class facilities which support the ambitions of all users, from sporting champions to grassroots beginners."
