Lawyers across Penningtons have been rated as being among the top in their field in the country in the latest edition of the national legal directory
Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession, which has just been published.
The guide, produced annually and seen as an industry 'bible', ranks firms according to what clients say about them. It lists Penningtons in tier 1 for clinical negligence and business immigration advice and highlights its 'particular expertise in claims relating to missed diagnoses, surgical negligence, cerebral palsy and brain injury' as well as its 'growing reputation for handling ground-breaking immigration matters'.
A wide range of other practice areas have also performed strongly in the directory – the firm's employment, private client, professional regulation, commercial property, property litigation, corporate, corporate tax, personal injury, social housing and travel teams are all listed as key players in the market place.
In addition to awarding these rankings to teams of solictors throughout the firm,
Chambers has also listed 21 Penningtons lawyers as 'leaders in their field'. Particular recognition has been given to Philip Barth, Geoffrey Hudson, Alison Appelboam Meadows and Grainne Barton, who are all included in band 1, as well as Penningtons' head of professional regulation, Katrina Wingfield, who is named as a 'star individual'.
Chambers describes Katrina as 'a pre-eminent figure in the field, praised for her experience, diligence and responsiveness'.
Commenting on the rankings, Penningtons' chief executive David Raine says: "We are delighted that
Chambers continues to recognise the strengths of our lawyers. The real measure of our success is our relationship with our clients and positive feedback from them through this directory is hugely rewarding."
