Penningtons hires new employment partner

Penningtons Solicitors LLP is delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Yew as a partner in its employment team. Julian, who was previously a partner at Wedlake Bell LLP, will work alongside head of employment Jon Heuvel at Penningtons' London office to expand the practice, particularly in the hotels and leisure sector.

Julian provides HR advisory, corporate transactions, projects and employment litigation advice across the hospitality, financial services, professional practices, media and retail industries. He is frequently called upon to manage projects involving large scale restructuring exercises and change programmes. On the transactional side, Julian advises on the management of TUPE issues arising from business acquisitions and disposals and commercial outsourcing deals. He also acts for senior executives in relation to their career moves. His clients range from leading international hotel chains to City based CEOs. In 2009 he represented a partner at a Magic Circle law firm on a six figure settlement for sexual discrimination.

Julian is recognised by the 2010 edition of The Legal 500 directory which describes him as 'very practical and realistic'. He is the author of several leading employment law books as well as the General Editor of Termination of Employment (Bloomsbury Professional). He regularly hosts client seminars and training sessions on key labour law issues affecting businesses.
