Penningtons was delighted to welcome a group of over 50 clients and contacts to its 2010 golf day at The Addington Golf Club in Surrey, one of the top courses in the country.
Among the guests were some famous faces from the world of rugby - Kenny Logan, who previously played for Scotland and has more recently been a contestant on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing; Tony Bucknall, a former captain of the English rugby team as well as fellow England players Tony Bond and David Trick; Welsh rugby stars Mike Roberts, Roger Michaelson and John Taylor as well as Damian Cronin and David Mackay who played for Scotland and the Barbarians respectively. There was also a cricketing presence in the shape of former England batsman Dick Richardson. These illustrious sportsmen were all guests of Chris Grey, a consultant in Penningtons' commercial property team, who was himself previously a player with the London Welsh rugby team.
A successful day on the fairways culminated in a late lunch and the award of prizes for the longest drive and nearest the pin putt to investment banker Jonathan Retter. Jonathan was also part of the winning team of four with Morgan Belsher of Balfour Beatty, Paul Scoble of LSM Partners and Sam Gardner of Aon Benfield Facultative.
