Penningtons Solicitors LLP is delighted to welcome Kay Taylor, who was previously department head at Shoosmiths, to its clinical negligence team as part of its ongoing expansion.
Kay's recruitment is the third appointment of a senior individual into Penningtons' clinical negligence team this year - Grainne Barton (formerly of Charles Russell) joined in June 2010 and John Kyriacou (formerly of Pattinson Brewer) joined in July to head the team in the London office.
Kay joins Penningtons as an associate and will be based in the firm's Godalming office. She has nearly 20 years' experience in clinical negligence and personal injury litigation. She was promoted to a managerial role at Shoosmiths in 1999 and led the clinical negligence team at its Basingstoke office.
Kay acts for claimants on a wide range of medical health issues and has a special interest in obstetric and gynaecological claims as well as oncology, paediatric medicine and fatal actions. She has substantial experience in dealing with catastrophic injury claims and has represented a number of families with children suffering birth injuries. Kay continues to achieve high settlement awards with a particular focus on ensuring early interim care packages where possible. She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Penningtons' clinical negligence team is regarded as one of the largest in London and the South East with 18 fee earners. It is rated in the top band for clinical negligence in both the
Chambers and
Legal 500 directories, with several members being listed as leaders in their field. It advises clients nationwide.
Philippa Luscombe, who heads the team in the Godalming office, said: "We are delighted to welcome Kay to Penningtons.
