Funding a clinical negligence claim

Their client friendly approach ensures individuals feel safe and confident with them.

Chambers UK
Clinical Negligence

We are able to advise on various different sources for funding a potential clinical negligence claim.

We have a Legal Services Commission franchise for public funding – previously known as 'Legal Aid' – and are able to act in cases that meet the criteria for funding.

It is increasingly common for people to find they have insurance cover for the legal expenses arising from a personal injury claim. Such legal expenses insurance may attach to your household buildings and contents insurance, your motor insurance policy, even certain bank accounts or credit card services, or come through a trade union.

Where public funding is unavailable and there is no legal expenses insurance, or a justifiable reason for not using insurance, we can offer conditional fee agreements – commonly referred to as 'no win no fee' agreements. These are assessed on a case by case basis according to the merits of each individual claim and we would be happy to discuss with you how they work in practice.

We do undertake work under private funding in some cases where alternative funding is not available for any reason but will look to arrange alternative funding where we can.
