Penningtons have acted for many clients in dispute resolution cases both here at home and abroad, we have dealt with construction disputes, matters involving employment and professional indemity claims> we have also been heavily involved in cases involving insolvency, insurance disputes and of course disputes between partnerships in some major corporations. we can also advise clients on arbitrations involving trading as well as all the major aspects of property that is commercial or otherwise.
In our dispute resolution department we have a team of regulators that form a seperate litigation unit. They are widely acclaimed as being the best in their field of self regulatory matter and discipline of a highly professional attitude. the team has the adaptability and knowledge to be able to handle all the needs of any professional outfit.
In three of our offices, London, Godalming and Basingstoke we have what is know as the ADR team, otherwise known as the Alternative Dispute resolution team and they handle disputes in a different way from the normal run of the mill dispute team they will use different methods and will try to avoid using normal litigation. The main process that is used by the resolution team is normally negotiation although they will try to adapt an early evaluation or perhaps they would try to see if they could get a mini trial, a mini trial is not even a trial it is just a way of getting information across to decision makers and getting them to resolve the dispute. We have some member of the team who are commercial arbitrators that have all done training at the centre for dispute resolution and we also have some members of the team who are knowledgeable licensed family advocates, so this make us totally impartial and we work as a dispassionate overseer.
This team has as its head Henry Brown who is the author of the law society's report on alternative dispute resolution practices. He is fully conversant as a moderator in both commercial and family matters, he has worked closely with the mediators association and the law association.
