Transatlantic product liability claim reaches satisfactory conclusion

Our team represented a 40 year old British woman who suffered a serious spinal cord injury resulting in permanent paralysis after using an alleged defective product while she was staying in the US. We worked in conjunction with a San Francisco based lawyer and proceedings were issued in California. We fought but lost the initial argument on forum and so the case was transferred from the US to London for a trial.

Our lawyers obtained engineering evidence in relation to the alleged defect and quantum evidence from experts in spinal surgery, care, occupational therapy, accommodation and environmental controls. The trial continued for nine days before a settlement was reached. This was subject to a confidentiality agreement.
