Navigating the challenges of marine salvage operations

At Penningtons Manches Cooper, we have extensive expertise in marine salvage law and are one of the few firms dealing with over 10 salvage cases per year.

Whether we are instructed for salvor or to protect property interests, we will gather factual data about the incident and environment as soon as possible, usually whilst dealing with security. Subsequently we will provide all the necessary support during the salvage operation itself, ensuring the requisite evidence is collected.

This multifaceted approach led to a swift settlement in the salvage of the container vessel Mexico City in Antwerp in December 2019 as well as a successful outcome for our clients after an LOF hearing concerning CSCL Jupiter which ran aground on the River Scheldt shortly after departing from Antwerp in August 2017.
