Moped crash in Greece

We have recently represented a woman who was injured in Greece when she was riding pillion on a moped.

The English driver lost control after consuming excessive alcohol. Neither party was wearing a helmet.

Our client suffered brain damage, a cardiac arrest, multiple fractures to her jaw and to her right femur, internal bleeding, heart problems and impaired vision.

The defendant was insured through a policy with Greek insurers and a claim was brought in the UK against him and those insurers. Although there was agreed contributory negligence as a result of her failure to wear a helmet, damages of £53,500 were obtained.
