Damage to eggs in the laboratory

A patient underwent fertility treatment at an NHS clinic. As part of the process, she had several eggs collected to be fertilised in the laboratory.

As a result of mistakes by the embryologist during the fertilisation process, all the eggs were dropped on the laboratory floor and could not be recovered. With the assistance of one of our clinical negligence specialists, the woman received compensation in an out of court settlement.
