Our expertise covers all aspects of construction law, including building contracts, consultants' appointments, partnering agreements and collateral warranties for owners, funders and end users. We regularly prepare amendments to standard form building contracts to suit particular commercial requirements, such as golden brick schemes, and can provide bespoke solutions where necessary.
We also advise on tendering, public procurement and contract documentation and can assist with disputes, insolvency and other problems arising during and after the project. We help clients set up partnering schemes and framework arrangements and aim to resolve disputes as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.
Our wide experience in property development includes office, retail, industrial and residential schemes. In this sector, we are able to advise on the full range of issues which could affect your ability to develop, from easements and restrictive covenants to planning matters, including section 106 agreements and other infrastructure agreements which may need to be considered with local authorities and utility providers. Where the project involves development partners, we are also able to advise on the best development and funding routes and on how best to structure any joint venture arrangements.
In respect of affordable housing, we frequently advise RSLs on the extent to which their agreements with developers are covered by the regulations and whether framework agreements can be used to reduce procurement costs.
