Richard Underwood is a partner in the private client team. Since qualification in 1973 he has specialised in helping private clients with all aspects of their affairs and dealing with their assets and business structures. In particular he advises on tax planning and succession for individuals and families as well as asset protection issues. Many of his cases have an international element and he also advises on charity law and heritage property. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and was lead editor for Practical Trust Precedents and Practical Will Precedents.
He joined the firm in 2000 following the merger with Walker Martineau where he had been a partner since 1987. Before that he was partner at Withers.
