Stephen is a commercial litigator and a consultant in our commercial dispute resolution team. He heads our professional practices group and is highly regarded in the field of partnership law. Stephen joined Penningtons from Dawsons Solicitors in 2011. He has appeared as a noted practitioner in The Legal 500 and Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession for many years as well as in the publication Legal Experts. Roderick I'Anson Banks, the current author of Lindley & Banks on Partnership, describes him as 'particularly effective'.
Stephen is also a licensed insolvency practitioner, an accredited mediator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and sits as an arbitrator in partnership disputes. He is a member of the Law Society's Arbitration Panel. He has been involved in a number of substantial 'partnership and LLP work-outs' where he advises partners and/or creditors in relation to partnership/ LLP solvency issues. He has also acted on a number of high profile white collar crime matters including, most notably, Guinness and Maxwell.
