Julia is head of family law at Penningtons and joined the firm as a partner in September 2009, having spent 15 years in London building her reputation as a leading family lawyer. Her experience in financial work includes complex ancillary relief cases, financial claims on behalf of children and financial disputes between unmarried couples as well as between civil partners. She also specialises in divorce with an international element. Julia has extensive experience of children cases, especially those with international features. She is an experienced practitioner in cross border children work, including abduction, and provides expert legal advice on English law in foreign cases as well as advising on international relocation cases.
Julia is trained as a mediator and collaborative family law practitioner. She is accredited as a specialist abduction and private law children solicitor by Resolution, the family law solicitors’ association. She is also a member of the Law Society’s family panel, of the Legal Working Group of Reunite, the child abduction charity, and of the International Bar Association and sits on the editorial board of the journal Family Law and Practice.
The Legal 500 described Julia as 'highly recommended' in 2009 and as an 'experienced lawyer with excellent judgement' in 2010. She is listed as a prominent figure in family and matrimonial law in the Citywealth Leaders List 2011.
