James leads the corporate team in Penningtons' London office. He joined the firm as a partner in 2011, having previously been a partner with a top 20 law firm. With over 12 years' experience, James has a broad range of corporate and commercial expertise and has advised on a wide spectrum of corporate finance transactions, including domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, corporate restructurings and reorganisations and joint ventures. He also has a strong track record advising on private equity transactions, having acted for management teams and institutional houses on numerous mid-market private equity deals. His recent and historic clients include Tate & Lyle Plc, BT Global Services, Fujitsu-Siemens, National Grid plc, J O Hambro Capital Management, NASDAQ, Montagu Private Equity, Gresham and Barclays.
James has a particular interest in the technology sector where he has a number of key clients. He is playing an influential role in building the capability of Penningtons' cross divisional technology sector group.
