Jon is joint head of Penningtons' employment team. He specialises in all aspects of employment law including complex employment tribunal and High Court proceedings for employers and employees across a range of industries and sectors, with a particular focus on hotels and restaurants, professional partnerships and regulatory bodies, educational establishments, recruitment and temporary workers, and international businesses. He is at the forefront of key labour law developments and regularly advises clients on new regulations which will impact on their organisations.
In addition to his domestic practice, Jon also specialises in international cross border issues for multi-national clients and is the general editor (and co-author) of How To Hire and Fire in 96 Jurisdictions (2011). He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and chairman of the London Chamber of Commerce Skills and Employment Forum. Jon is a regular author and speaker on a range of employment issues, and has appeared on TV and national radio as an expert commentator. He is recognised as a leading individual in his field, with particular expertise in discrimination, and described as a 'good listener, and really flexible and creative' by Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession.
