Michael is a partner in the employment team. He qualified as a solicitor in 1994, joined the firm as a senior solicitor in 1999, he became an associate in 2000 and a partner in 2001.
Michael specialises in all aspects of employment law (including discrimination law) and has a particular interest and expertise in the Transfer of Undertakings Regulations, and business reorganisations. Much of Michael's work involves the careful handling of workplace disputes, and advising client's on how best to navigate through the various employment laws to seek to ensure claims are avoided, or (if claims arise) that they are possible to defend in the Employment Tribunal. He regularly advises clients on new regulations, drafts employment contracts and handbooks and represents parties in the employment tribunal. Michael presents seminars on a wide range of employment-related topics, provides client's with in-house training, and is a regular author of specialist articles. He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
