Good news for the UK's health care system - The Commonwealth Fund report has ranked the performance of seven countries for quality, efficiency, access to care, equity and healthy lives with the UK being ranked top for efficiency. The survey commenced in 2007 and has taken into account views of patients and doctors, with more than 27,000 being surveyed across the countries taking part.

Overall the UK was ranked second behind The Netherlands, but came out ahead of Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
