Penningtons appoints new partner

Penningtons Solicitors LLP is pleased to announce that Joanne Vengadesan, who specialises in intellectual property and technology law, has been appointed a partner.

Joanne is part of the business services team at Penningtons' Basingstoke office. She joined Penningtons in 2002 and has developed the firm's intellectual property and technology practice in the South East, focusing on IT, e-commerce and telecommunications. Penningtons is listed in the 2006 edition of the Legal 500 directory for its expertise in information technology law.

Joanne has previously worked for a large number of blue chip clients, both in the City and Malaysia, where she trained and qualified in 1997. Her experience includes working with suppliers and customers on a range of software, hardware and Internet projects. She also advises on data protection, domain name disputes and advertising agreements. Recently at Penningtons she advised on the negotiation of a core sub-contract which formed part of a nationwide project commissioned by the Highways Agency to upgrade the telecommunications network on motorways.

Joanne's appointment brings the total number of partners at Penningtons Solicitors LLP to 66.
